A small restaurant, but the food is great. The rice noodle was good, and chewy. Maybe not that soft for those who prefer soft foods. The soup was great, meats were tasty, and the amount was amazing. I’ll recommend to and bring my friends to visit it again.

Chez Jiangnan 江南·南京盐水鸭 is a hidden gem nestled in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, bringing the authentic flavors of Nanjing right to the heart of France. This small yet vibrant Chinese restaurant captures the essence of Jiangnan cuisine with a thoughtfully curated menu that showcases traditional dishes alongside creative twists. The star of the house, of course, is the iconic 南京盐水鸭 (Nanjing salted duck), a dish renowned for its tender, richly flavored meat and perfectly balanced seasoning.

Among the culinary treasures, the 鸭血粉丝汤 (duck blood vermicelli soup) stands out for its deep, umami-packed broth and the satisfying chew of fresh rice noodles—each spoonful delivering comforting authenticity. The 红烧牛肉面 (braised beef noodle soup) offers a robust and hearty experience, with tender beef chunks soaked in a savory, slow-cooked sauce that melds seamlessly with springy noodles.

For those seeking smaller bites, dishes like 夫妻肺片 (spicy sliced beef and ox tongue) and 口水鸡 (mouthwatering spicy chicken) bring a burst of Sichuan-inspired heat and numbing spice, offering a vibrant contrast to the more subtle saltwater duck. Meanwhile, signature items like Brioche Au Porc and 鸡排煎饼果子 invite diners to savor unique fusions that marry French baking finesse with authentic Chinese fillings and flavors.

The atmosphere may be modest, but the generous portions and carefully balanced flavors envelop you like a warm embrace. The menu also delights with 素什锦 (vegetarian medley) and 糖藕 (sweet lotus root), which provide refreshing and traditional touches that honor Jiangnan's culinary diversity. The delicate Crêpes Chinois and Crepes Nori offer an inventive take on textures and tastes, appealing to adventurous palates.

Customer feedback consistently praises the authenticity and generosity of the dishes. Many have remarked that the prices, around 10€ for food and 3€ for drinks, are incredibly reasonable given the quality. Whether you’re a nostalgic visitor from China or a curious Parisian, Chez Jiangnan’s commitment to genuine flavors is palpable, making every meal a satisfying journey back to the heart of Jiangnan cuisine.

In summary, dining at Chez Jiangnan 江南·南京盐水鸭 is an immersive experience where traditional Chinese craftsmanship meets approachable Parisian dining. It’s a place that invites you to taste history, culture, and passion in every bite.
